Hi All
i had some issues with my 2011 SDV6 alternator throwing codes and not charging so i went about the long task of removing it in the process snapped the little sensor wire at the back of the alternator right at the connector , does anyone know where i can get another one and where does it go into the engine?? also i purchases a 180 amp alternator as i thought it would be what my car was fitted with based on the age and the model but when i got it out it is a 150 amp alternator, it had a sticker with land Rover dense AH22-10300-AB is this going to be a issue i run a twin battery and also tow a caravan with a 50 amp DCDC charger. i have the 180 amp charger coming from the UK as we speak. should i order a 150 amp alternator or will it be OK. any help will be appreciated.

The 180 amp alternator is not only OK, it will improve your recharging capability.

well all done the little plug i had to get from a LR wrecker they cut one of a wrecked car. all went back in OK but a hard job on your back under the car, if it fails again would get a Mechanic to do it.
had the Gap tool on it and all seams to be charging correctly have seen for a very short time 156 amps from a 150 amp alternator. the 180 one purchased was the wrong one [bawl] so had to get a 150 from my local guy not to bad he purchased the other one of me for close to what i paid for it.
