Not a good week for Australian cricket. Fifty-two is too young for an athlete.
RIP Shane Warne.

I enjoyed watching Shane in all forms but more test match cricket……I ignored his off field antics which I’m sure will be dug out again..
Athlete?? I did like his approach but I’m sure some would question his approach to health and fitness while at the top level.

I, too would die of a heart attack if I had his lifestyle and income... as well as the unrelenting harem of model girlfriends he's had over the year.
Safe to say he was living the dream for the rest of us.

If it was a heart attack.
I bet there is more to it,but whether we ever find out,who knows.

I just hope that people don't go digging in the cesspool, do too much surmising, listen to social media faeces or self appointed experts on the matter.
It's always nice to have a modicum of decency.

Must say it’s been pretty good so far…..
MCG hasn’t much around in honoring Warnie,
what I didn’t get was the media saying no stand has been named after an AFL Player er like it’s the MCG, I believe cricket was first and AFL come along sometime after.

Shane Warne dead: Instagram, weight loss, training photos | news.com.au — Australia’s leading news site (https://www.news.com.au/sport/cricket/shane-warne-planned-to-get-shredded-in-final-days-before-death/news-story/db578eec30d6f0b03d11dab24099c04b)
You’ve got to be careful over 50 with the old ticker going to hard, dehydration and ‘herbal’ treatments. Suspect some ridiculous weight loss was happening.

Apart from reportedly complaining of chest pains to his doctor before embarking to Thailand, he was also asthmatic... any medicos /paramedics on this forum might pipe up here, but it can be a dangerous combination... (had a colleague (a fit 48 yr old) who was asthmatic -suffered chest pains on an international flight but didn't wish to make a fuss...he died an hour later). Vale Warnie!

If you are over 50 and have not had a coronary calcium test get it done. It’s quick and cheap and shows up any faults before you find out the hard way.
A friend of same age as SKW fell over on the hockey field last year dead and only saved due to half the players being surgeons or doctors and a defib in the clubhouse. He’s fixed but had no idea he was a ticking time bomb.
It used to called a life well lived. Loved his smokes, a beer or three and his mates. Sadly, died too young.

After a bit of research, SKW had Covid in August last year, serious enough to be on a ventilator for a while. He was fully vaxxed. Covid greatly increases your risk of future heart complications. He was also 14 days in to a fruit juice only diet, which may have being playing all sorts of games with his metabolism and body health...

While my whole wasn’t on a ventilator however probably should have spent some time in hospital. She has been diagnosed with COVD long, she is on a program to get her lung back to 100%. Hopefully her heart hasn’t been affected

When I heard the news, I didn't know whether to crack these, in honour of the man, or put them on display, in honour of the man.[bigsad]
On seeing the 'Best Before' date of 7/12/15, they're definitely going on display.

Pretty sure there is a thread for Rod
Rod was always my wicket keeper (a small tree if you nicked it and the ball hit the trunk or a branch than you were out, if the ball when through the leaves than it was four as the batter would always say 3rd man was way too wide to cut off the 4) when I was bowling in our backyard cricket matches that never seemed to end……..many fond memories of Rod and other player of his era during tie 70’s and 80’s
I’m the same age as warnie and watched him from the start……..he’s getting a lot of deserved media attention cause that was the guy he was……

Hhmmm, I wonder how many of those players are dead or dying with Smoking Related illness?
Remember the Marlboro Man? He was one, promoting their fags, probably not because of B & H of course.
Just because it was "fashionable" it didn't mean you had to have a Gasper in your Gob.
