View Full Version : Have just upgraded from D2 to D4 - things to check

Hello to all,

Been a while since active but that is how things roll.

Have just paid for a D4 2015 MY16 SDV6 HSE with a few bells and whistles the dealer (non LR) hasn't identified. Approx 82k mileage with a mixed low LR service record for warranty and a few indi services since.

Drives great. Some ARB (drove straight from sale to store) mods. A sneaky iDrive mod (not overly sure on this one) but overall appears to have been someone's pride and joy.
As I found this at a TOYO dealer then the previous owner either had a brain fart or decided to leave the green oval for a reason. (It lived in Port Macquarie).

Things to check list would be awesome. I have trawled the forum for quite a while as have been searching for 6 months.

Thanks for input. Keep it clean. I also expect to service myself and am planning on getting a garage with hoist. Am a little bit handy as have had D2 for almost 20 years.

Lots of Landy Love
Simon

First thing to check is your throttle boot, the difference between the two is awsome and could get you pinged for speeding in the first week!

Enjoy

Nice,if it has an Idrive, I think you mean an EVC throttle controller? Should make for a nice drive.

These seem to be all the go these days.
Why are they so popular?

No lag, instant throttle response. Some D4's on standard fuel mapping have an issue where say on entering an intersection or roundabout on low throttle application there is no forward motion, car hesitates and thus is dangerous. The EVC fixes this by allowing you to change the throttle signal response curve via 12 presets or using the AC feature where it adapts to your driving style. My 2011 SDV6SE 3.0 has a Roo Systems ECU tune and I run the EVC, makes for a very nice drive.

Like Eric said,

with the iDrive active it drives like a teenage racer cut cat. First drive I had was a wet day and almost soiled myself. Now as I am over 50 that may not be as significant but is worth a mention.

Mate, It's a 'Beautiful day', so I gotta 'Sing a Song for someone', but to answer your question , probably 'Until the end of the world'. [smilebigeye]

Apologies to O.P.

Let him go will ya? His song saved my life this Sunday Bloody Sunday. Anyway, if I could upgrade to the D4 I Desire I could be dancing barefoot by New Year’s Day.
