Has anyone got any images or specs on the G4 disco 2
Are these just normal cars just kitted up?
I'd love mine to look like identical except of course Bonitti Grey

All the G4 Landies are standard appart from aftermarket suspension a roll cage in some and the other goodies they bolt on. If you had a list of the accessories it would be easy to make yours look the same. Having said that your bank account ant missus mightnt talk to you for a while. :D

I've got a few pics. However the only modifications done to any of the G4 challenge vehicles is bolt on bits like snorkels, winches etc. suspension and engines are all left showroom. same with the camel trophy as far as I know.

The winches on those G4's look really low! Reckon they'd be the first thing to dig in on a (not so) steep climb.

There's 2 types of G4 vehicle about.... The 'tarted up' G4 limited edition production car or an ex-event vehicle. The tarted up ones are easy to buy as they're a regular production car with some toys bolted on and a few G4 stickers added.
The event ones are a little more complicated as they vary in condition, equipment and history... As they have been raced & rallied, it's always going to be a case of 'buyer beware'. LandRover can sometimes be a bit funny about releasing event vehicles like these (long story) so quite often they have all the toys & stickers removed before being sent for sale.
BTW - One of the main differences between G4 & Camel Trophy vehicles (other than the colour) is that none of the G4 vehicles have roll cages.

It seems they have only used the V8's in the g4 challenge (why not they're not paying to run them) is this the case? I'm actually after images of TD5 disco's (if any) from the challenge. Preferably from the 2001 challenge so it has the same headlights as mine

There has only been 2 G4 challenges, this years and 2003 (which was the first one). One of the best places for pics is the official website which has images in the gallery from both challenges.

Last Land rover camel was in 1998 from memory, using freelanders. last disco year was 1997, just bedore the D2, but don't let that stop you ;)

Hi All
When I first saw these the description said they were ex G4 Discos and were Australian ADRs and could not be registered in the UK.

Yep... All those Discos that Keith Gott had were V8s and were Oz spec. IIRC, the only G4 vehicles to be Diesel were the 110s... Even the Freelanders were the V6 petrol ones.
As for the Camel Trophy... Disco was used as a team car up to & including 1997. The Freelander was then used for 1998 (with Defender support vehicles to carry all the gear).
Honda supplied the Camel Trophy vehicles for 2000... :o

They may have sponcered the camel but they used rebadged Land Rovers for it:eek: a Honda Crossroad and they were D2s if i not mistaken and were only released for the Asian market.
There was a picture floating around here or some other forum of a Honda Discovery.
