A bit of a backstory, but I have been on here for a few years now - started with a 2003 Defender, and have moved onto a D4 which im slowly learning to love [smilebigeye].

A friend of mine asked me recently about my car 'choices' and doing some of the mechanical work on them myself and the reliability that land rovers can be known for, and my answer was 'there is a whole world of people out there who have owned this car, and have had the same problems as i do/will have'. Meaning, 99% of problems i'm going to come up against have already happened, and been solved - and most of that information is located right here on this forum.

And through trawling, reading, listening to the other members on the forum here, you can really absorb and learn so much information to help yourself when things go bad, or when you just need a little encouragement to do the job yourself.

I recently found myself on the freeway with 'restricted power' sign on the dash. As i was pulling over into a safe spot, I was trying to think of my next moves - and it was an easy decision to know what to do first - AULRO.com. 5 minutes later, i'm back at it on the freeway, problem solved.

A few days later, I had the same message, different problem - but again, AULRO to the rescue and a new MAF's sensor, and i'm back driving.

Im very grateful for those on here who are posting, asking for help, providing help and also keeping this forum alive, because it really is an invaluable source of information.

Cheers,

Thomas

Awesome mate, yes fully agree, that's what makes this place what it is. Always something to learn and as long as we keep sharing our collective experiences this can only get better.
