D3 Radio Replace / Upgrade

I have been looking through various posts about upgrading my radio due to my D3 MY06 now showing signs of age. and was wondering how this stacks up and if they are easy for DIY for the tech minded. I’m not needing steering controls etc but like the idea of Apple car play and Bluetooth / hands free.

I would be even more impressed if it means my fuel guage starts to work again.

Thank you. Good to know. Am I right in assuming it needed the fascia kit from Aeropro (?). I think that model is now not available but the current model doesn’t look too bad either.

sorry just one more question. Do I need the full fascia kit with the wires, frame etc or just the fascia if I don’t want steering controls.

I know I'm old school, but does anyone know of a unit that will take CD's??? And have a full fascia kit? No interest in reverse camera or any other camera, just an AM/FM/CD unit that will plug and ply with steering wheel controls, and not look like it has been bodged into place.

Get the aerpro kit then a head unit with a CD player, most of the big brands still play discs.
