Yep I am at it again new thread. This morning a Balloon landing /parking in Melbourne (https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-04-20/hot-air-balloon-crash-landing-melbourne-elwood/101000930?utm_campaign=abc_news_web&utm_content=link&utm_medium=content_shared&utm_source=abc_news_web) hit the news a bit[biggrin]
The trees branches the balloon went through softened the landing and note the pilot did miss a LOT of power lines[thumbsupbig]
Radio was asking for your best/worst parking story. I sent them mine.
It was a hoot plus in 1998 I think. I was walking on Constitution Dock just the other side of HMAS Perth as she did this parking job[biggrin]. The look on the Buffer, crew and officers on the Bridge faces was sheer horror. Mine was insubordinate plus. Me and my mates were laughing our asses off. ( after we could see no one was hurt I add) The poor crew on Perth did not get teased that night all over Hobart much or ever since[bigrolf][bigrolf][bigrolf]
"PERTH's revenge on Hobart. This picture is of PERTH when she rammed the wharf when coming to berth in Hobart. It happened just alongside of Constitution Dock. The Port Control staff in the office must have gotten quite a shock to see a Destroyer "destroying" their office."

Port control asleep at the wheel?
Don.
In a race to beat me to the bar more likely[biggrin] Hobart( my ship) was already parked and many of us were walking along wharf when we were quickly over taken by Perth who beat us to the end of the wharf and parked as picured.
I wonder if the Captain walked the plank [bighmmm]

I was thinking about trucks Ian. Suspect more than a few fender benders and reversing rear enders[biggrin]

Perhaps not quite in the same league
Arrived back at the house this afternoon to find a car parked on the opposite side of the road from my house. Issue is the road is one and a half cars wide. The gutter is lowered on the right side of the street so everyone can park and cars can go past. This car is parked on the left! Now only space for motorbikes to go through. Had mounted the higher gutter to achieve this. There are cars in the street all parked on the right.
My neighbour happened to be walking up the street as they came back to the car. Know this as could hear the ‘discussion’. They had been in the doctors surgery at the end of the street and could not see what the problem was!!!

It'd be interesting to watch the team B doubles having a race around each track after the main event IN REVERSE.

Pit stops with a compulsory tyre change would be amusing. [biggrin]

I think one lap would suffice. The drivers would be knackered from the concentration required.
Would be a better thing for teenagers to watch, as opposed to watching their 'heroes' doing burnouts that they go on to emulate.
