I have sifted through all the posts and I am having difficulty in trying to find part numbers and where to buy with confidence that they will fit my vehicle.

Can anybody provide me with the part numbers for front (big disc model) and rear pads. Also where to buy them either locally or OS if cheaper. If OS can anybody tell me how long it took for delivery.

I am not interested in any other brand nor am I interested in rotors, just the pads.

Thanks

Rockauto, about a week. Buy wipers at the same time. Cheap as!

Beat me to it DJ. Rockauto is definitely cheapest and fastest. Good tip on the wipers.

Agreed with the Rockauto reference. The US version of the D4 (LR4) has the petrol V8 which has the same size discs as the 3.0 diesel (ie larger diameter than the 2.7 TDV6). I have the Akebono pads as per the Rockauto site on my 2011 3.0SDV6 and they perform beuatifully with the promised advantage of low or minimal dust (also put on new discs at the same time). From memory they took a little over a week, maybe week and a half to get to me after the order was placed.

Cheers

Thanks to all re where to buy and the part numbers. The delivery was exceptional. I ordered last Sunday 24th and the parts arrived tonight (Friday 29th) at 5.45pm!!! Hell why can I get things from USA so quickly yet sending things to any other State in Aus takes 4 weeks!!!.

A bit OT, but do Akebono do ceramic pads for RRC's / Disco 1?

I have had a look at their site and Rockauto............ just call me 'internet immature'.

The only change over time (from 1970 to 1990ish) would be some weird wires emanating out of the pads after 1990, till 1994. [biggrin]

cheers, DL

Not sure what year you are searching for, but from rockauto: 2004 series 1 discovery 4.6l v8 petrol: rear: EUR 493 front eur676

For 1994 3.6l v8 petrol, yes, rear eur518 front eur520

So from that I would expect they carry ake's across all year models. Note that the US typically got the petrol variants, not diesels.

Thanks Eric. 1974 RRC is what I'm after, but the pad dimensions didn't change till after 93.

That's on Rockauto or Akebono?

Nothing on rockauto for a rrc 1974. If the brakes are the same as a 1994 series 1 Disco then the part numbers I listed above should be correct. Flick rockauto an email with your VIN.
