Hello All,
Yes, this post does fit into the General Chat guidelines.... "Almost anything goes, have a look and drop in a few lines. Think of it as a campfire chat with the kids around".
I also know it is a long shot - just wondering if there are any former/current New South Wales Industrial Arts teachers who trained at the University of New South Wales during the 1970s? According to the UNSW's Professional Handbooks of 1977 and 1978 there were the following three units available to study: Ethnotechnology I, Ethnotechnology II and Ethnotechnology III. The units were designed by Professor Leslie Martin Haynes.
I have contacted the current Dean of the most likely department at UNSW; their library and their Alumni about Ethnotechnology and Professor Haynes' research. So far I have drawn a blank. :wallbash:
There are contributions of Professor Haynes at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney and the Smithsonian Institute in the USA collections of artefacts. Yes - I have contacted them too.
Well I did write that this is a long shot! You never find out if you don't ask.
Kind regards
Lionel
