So after being away for a few years my Son has decided to buy a project Discovery ........The battery was connected with the terminals reversed
Ia awaiting a nanacom but whilst waiting I've been checking a few things basically there is no powering up, I've checked fuses disconnected starter and alternator but I reckon its cooked the fuse box inside ...burn marks visible
so I'm getting into changing the inside fuse box and maybe the BCU
so I have the chance of some replacements but..... the part numbers are different
Part numbers are different
fitted in the Disco
Fuse box yqe 000250
bcu ywc 000310
offered
yqe 103830
ywca 000010
are these the same and if reprogrammed will they work in a Discovery td5 2002
thanks

Had the instance with the D1 where the previous owner had installed a reversed battery and so I put the new battery stupidly in the wrong way, the alternator regulator electronics blew and no start joe, easy fix though by changing module only, not the alternator. How did you check the alternator?

If this is the internal fuse box, then you just need a fuse box from the same series, D2 or D2a and no problems with it being V8 or TD5. Just make sure the fuse box is from your series which should be a D2 going by model year and fit the fuses to match the engine / options.
Should add that the fuse box change is no biggie, just a bolt and a lot of fiddling around to get it back in and fitting the rear harnesses. I made the mistake of installing the smaller brown harness into the larger brown harness position which caused a lot of angst trying to work out why the 'larger' one would not go in.
Does it have an upgraded transfer case with the diff lock fitted?

well I have it running looks like the Internal Fuse box and alternator was cooked when the polity was reversed
No just need to work out if I can get away with just replacing the rectifier on the alternator!!!!!
