G'Day All,
The cruise control on my 4.6 P38 has never worked and no light on the dash switch. checked all physical parts and seems good. Ive obtained a Thor Black ECM and about to make an adapter. Now the Inverter on the later car has two wires direct to to the ECU whereas the old GEMs Inverter is wired separately to the loom.
What is the go from those who have successfully done this conversion?
We're planning on doing about a 10,000km trip soon so operational cruise is a must.
Cheers,
Alan

Hi Alan,
I have a 1995 Gems P38, well actually 4 of them, and my current one I changed to a Disco II cruise control computer. It has worked perfect ever sense. You just need to get the wiring plug with about 150mm of wire attached. I think I got the wiring diagram from the Rangerovers.pub site. I would still have the wiring diagram in the shed some where if you need it but it might take me a little while to find it.
Regards, Alan temperley

Yup done the same mod. simply a newer cc connected to the old loom. When I get in the shed I'll see if I can manage to shoot a picture of the whole setup!

Thanks for the responses.
I've done the upgrade however one of the wires from the Thor unit is apparently supposed to be yellow. Mine doesn't have a yellow, only a yellow with a red trace.
Any info on this?
Really I probably should have done the right thing and followed the yellow brick road through the RAVE process and done a proper diagnosis. I'm going to have to close the workshop to customer jobs and have enough time to do my own properly without interruption [biggrin].

Well bugger, I can't get that picture to upload...
All I can see from the picture is that all colours seem to be one on one connected with one wire not connected at all and that is white/red.
