Hi all, well I have finally got around to working on the Perentie FFR, starting with the headlight wiring upgrade, got it all in and went to test it and headlights won't work, got high beam and parkers and spot lights working but no low beam, so ring Tim at Traxide and he has run us through testing the switch and it is getting power to all 3 wires, so the switch is not the problem, this is a new switch so it's possible there was nothing wrong with the old switch.

Tim thinks there is a dodgy wire between the switch and the lights, has anyone had this issue, could it be a dodgy wire at the fuse box, is the a major fuse for the low beam as well as the 7.5 separate fuses.I'm all at sea here and have no idea where to start.

Not quite the same BUT I recently lost the blinkers in my FFR.

My FFR has the old glass tube style fuses - when I checked them, although the fuse wasn’t blown the fuse holder had surface rust on it.

Some emery paper soon sorted that out the fuse holder, and my blinkers came back.

I cleaned up 5 separate holders - all with tiny surfaces rust.

It's likely to be anything low tech...

*A test light is your friend.
*from the switch you are going to need to test all the way along to the lights.
*You could start at the other end, as in the head lights and see if they have power.
*Also note that the blackout convoy light switch is also part of all this.

*What is quite common though as grey ghost noted is corrosion on the glass fuse holders.
*spray the contacts with some (mild) phosphoric acid (rust convertor) then light coat of CRC, or contact cleaner etc etc.

*keep in mind, its an old Land Rover with old crap Land Rover electrics.
