Speedo correction TD5 C6100 Unit install

I’ve just purchased a C6100 speedo correction unit as I’m fitting bigger tyres.
Has anyone installed this. I’ve read Slunnies instructions but I’m a 12v beginner and I can’t figure out what a KG wire is. Plus the unit has two signal inputs wires and the instructions doesn’t show what to do with the second input wire.
Any help appreciated. Cheers

make sure you have a copy of RAVE and the electrical diagrams .. it helps.

KG is the wire colour.
K = Pink(yeah, PINK!), G = Green .. first colour signifies the main colour of the wire sheath, the second colour is the tracer on the sheath .. ie. Pink with green tracer.

Most colour codes make sense R = red, W = white O = Orange. But some are a bit cryptic U = Blue, N = Brown .. and so on ... it says it all in the electrical library in manual. Oh, BTW .. P = Purple! [biggrin]

The second input is not touched .. or actually just wind the wire up and tuck it neatly out of harms way. You could trim it down, just make sure no copper has come out the end.. it tape it or heatshrink it.

This is how I installed the C6100. Originally I took a switched 12V feed off the cigar lighter loom (ACC/IGN on) but later changed it tapped into the IGN only feed used by the ACE ECU.

My C6100 is installed behind the glovebox where the the SLABS ECU is . Originally I took a switched 12V feed off the cigar lighter loom (ACC/IGN on) but later changed it by tapping into the IGN only feed used by the ACE ECU. Note VSS on the diagram means Vehicle Speed Signal.

You shouldn't need to supply ACE with the uncorrected VSS. Just run the speedo correction unit between the SLABS and the Header - no other changes. The ACE needs the corrected VSS so it knows the correct speed you're travelling at.

... for the OP: the corrected signal must get to all the involved ECU/circuits/IP ... albeit that will not match with the fuel map power wise so if you want 100% well made job you need a dynamic remap addapted for those tyres cos the ECUs are getting correct VSS from the speedo corrector but there will be different driver demand and torque request at that speed input due to the bigger tyres if you see what i mean... you'll understand if you have EGT gauge to see the increased values

I followed that advice and it DID quieten the anomalous behaviour that I was experiencing with ACE after installing my speed corrector. I do have an EGT gauge and temps are moderate as is my driving style.

PeaceSeems that my memory is not the best then [bigsad]... probably it was about something i saw myself and forgot... now i was using only pure logic and can't remember at all why i said that back then, could have been something from a live experience which contradicts logic
