A big day today

Today I renewed the yearly motor tax on the 1992 200 tdi 110 station wagon. Because she is now 30 years of age, from date of first registration, she could be reclassified as "vintage" with a yearly road tax of €56 or AUD 83. This is down from the usual €1083 or AUD 1617. Happy days.....[bigsmile]

It got worse! In 2008 we changed over to a Co2 based taxation system, which meant that that Puma Defenders would be coming in at €2350 (AUD 3513)! However Land Rover went to Europe and got Defenders reclassified as N1 or commercial vehicles which meant they continued to be taxed under the old regime so stayed at €1083. The New Defender is taxed at the €2350! Another reason not to buy one!!!
