I have just spent a week in the "Real World", namely Cairns.
I saw my first Tesla, boring, & my first New Defender, want one. Can't afford one.[bawl]
Also went out to diner each night & tried various wines, nice.
A 15 hour drive from Cloncurry to Cairns & a 12 hour drive from Cairns to Doomadgee proved that the Prado is extremely comfortable but, unfortunately it got no less bland & boring.
Next month I am off to the Gold Coast for a few days at a conference, flying this time.
For now I'm glad to be home & have a rest!

PS Confirmed my view that the Real World is not worth the bother.

Every time I worked in Cairns which was about 3 -4 times a year I would tale off up to Atherton Tableland ,Mossman George ( Gods Country) or Cooktown on the weekend to get over the boredom & destress. Could have been worst , could have been Townsville.[bighmmm]

Not sure yet Ian. We are booking flights this week & have to work out if we are flying to Brisbane then hiring a car or flying direct.
I will let you know what we are doing once we work it out.
Paul
PS I have to get online today to buy clothes other than shorts & polo shirts.

Hopefully you can talk the powers that be into a New Defender as your next company car.

I tried that before I got the Prado.
I'm not sure if I was totally ignored or they heard me then ignored me?
SWMBO is working at a store in Cloncurry, maybe she will buy me one for Christmas, in 50 years time.

Just get the Prado bogged to the roof racks and then say "Well that wouldn't have happened in a New Defender".
You could try perking up the Prado's performance with a throttle controller as they are plug and play and removable.

We had the PF replaced free before I got it.
Funny thing though, the Boss sent me through the lawyers spiel re suing Toyota & asked me to check the VIN.
I thought the easiest way to check the VIN was to Google a Rego check.
Discovered the Prado hadn't been registered for 2 months!
After a 3 way phone conversation we discovered that the bill had been going to an accountant who hasn't worked for us for 9 months.
I was laughing on the phone, the Boss said it's not funny! I said it was because he would be paying any fines.
I am sure some camera or another would have picked me up driving around Cairns.

Doesn't matter if they replaced the DPF.
If was bought new in a certain time frame and you are still original owner then you are eligible.
Will go to registered owner though.
Helped my BIL with registration process this week

The vehicle has to have had the DPF issue, many didnt.
Until the appeal is sorted, which could take months or years,no one will get anything.
Will be interesting to see what eventuates.
