Gday All.

Sorry if some of you find the above pics disturbing; it certainly gave me a nasty fright!

The handbrake cable snapped in my 130 a few weeks back and this is the result!
Thankfully the vehicle did not kill, maim or damage anyone nor did it smash through the house across the road; in fact, somehow she remained on my property, despite my near vertical driveway!!

Insurance is making it a total loss, but due to the age of the car it will not go on the write off register thankfully.
Unlike my last 130 that was written off less than 2 years ago……..

Thankfully, I still have the written off one, which has only front end damage and will make the perfect donor car to repair my daily.

I’d love to have her painted during the process as well but that depends on $.

The shop quoting for insurance has provided a price of over $30k, excluding ali tray, bull and brush bars and colour change. I feel that’s too much, by a fair whack!
I’ve called a few other crash shops but they don’t want to do it.

Ive looked here and found a few old threads where folks have changed a roof and other panels over a weekend and they weren’t particularly skilled in crash repairs.

However, I don’t have a shed big enough to do the work myself, otherwise I’d love to give it a shot.

I live in the southern part of the NSW central coast so I’m wondering if anyone knows of a local (ish) repair shop that could make the repairs and maybe paint her?

Any advice will be welcomed.

Cheers!

Col
