They gave up on LR years ago,so that looks like a replacement for light duty.

Townsville based company "Australian Patrol Vehicles" has been making these for a while.

I thought it was one of those realistic RC things from a toob vid, and you had to buy the roof and doors separately.

I took it as, "Who is .........." eg "the owner of this vehicle"! [bigsmile]

I took it as, "who's (the manufacturer)".

Norforce has been using Toyotas across the top of Australia for years now - quite possibly one of theirs.

Brad McCarthy, inventor of Maxtrax has a very flash looking civvy version. There's an interesting interview in this podcast (https://overlandjournal.com/brad-mccarthy-on-australia-land-cruisers-and-having-fun-along-the-journey/)

Yep - have seen the Mercs they are using these days too. But as far as I know, they were still running a few Toyotas, especially out in the remote coastal areas where they have local Aboriginal patrols. I have a family member who was with Norforce for quite a while, and I was surprised when he showed me photos of some of the vehicles they had up there. I had no idea that they were using Toyotas until then. I worked up around Broome / Derby area and on Cockatoo Island for a while a few years back, and caught up with some of the local patrols on a few occasions. Great bunch of people and what they didn't know about the remote areas up there wasn't worth knowing.
