Hi,

I have been wanting some gullwings for the 110 for some time. I placed an order for a pair from CSW about 18 months ago and am still waiting.

As fate would have it, i smashed one of the original rear side windows when a cast iron fireplace rolled over in transit. I removed the old sliders and replaced it with some ply as an interim measure and contacted Emuwings. Rodney was happy to take the old smashed window as a template.

Last week, we fitted the first prototype. It is made from thick aluminium (3mm i think) set in a pair of aluminium frames that sandwich the original body. It was fairly easy to fit and took the pair of us about an hour.

I used the car on a ski trip to Hotham over the weekend and they were fantastic. it is a revelation when packing the car, and i am looking forward to getting another for the other side.

I am not sure what they will retail for, or what mods Rod is thinking of before putting into production, but am happy to pass on any ideas more experienced users might have?

Let me know what you think.

Cheers

Ben

They look good to me.
I have gullwings installed, I even posted on how I did it.

Its a shame the defender didnt come with them standard, and also a drop down tail gate instead of a large door <- that would be a nice mod

I'm in the same boat as you in ordering CSW Gullwings some 12mths or more ago... I've got the CSW ones on my newer PUMA and love them but one thing I've noticed is if u have the door up when it rains, the rain obviously runs back towards the car but then drips down into the channel below. There is no exit holes to let the water out so this would be a good improvement or design change that I reckon would be a benefit

I believe Murray (Rijidij Offroad) is doing his own gullwings, and from what he said, the price is very reasonable
