I am having problems finding a tyre. Is it a problem having slightly different treads on the tyres on the same axle? The car in question is a Valente. I am thinking that this will be ok as the space saver spare has a totally different tread pattern.

I would only do it on the rear as a medium term solution, until it's time to replace all tyres.
Only do it on the front if absolutely necessary, and change out at the first opportunity.

I've had a bridgestone and a cooper on the rear for ages, same rolling radius so doesnt matter.
the other 3 are falken, again , same rolling radius.
wishing all 5 would wear out , but they don't seem to want to.

I once rode in an old Toyota in Burma which had 5 different tyres on it, and lived to tell the tale, but it's not ideal.

Different tread pattern, same construction and size is fine on the one axle but not recommended.
