For some reason I keep loosing rear mudflaps on my 130 Defender. They keep tearing off just below the mount bolts. Is the rubber just to thin. Anyone made or purchased thicker mudflaps?

Possibly becoming caught by the tyre when reversing while off road.
Consider fitting chains so they can be easily lifted to the rear when off road.

I just made a set from old conveyer belt. They have been hanging there for 2 trips up the cape with no issue. They look a bit ruff, but so does the 130.

Thanks guys. Hasn't been offroad for awhile. Had two go missing on the highway within the last month. Might give some Tuff Rok ones ago. Those seem to be made of thicker material.

One of mine succumbed to a friend's large dog who thought it was good jaw exercise!

Same here. Trace the shape (and hole positions) from the old flap, cut with a Stanley knife, and smooth the edges with a belt sander.

I only have a 110 but had the same problem, I found they have a weak spot, just below the bolts, I think its the type of rubber as they crack after a short time. I just got some flat rubber from the bearing place and made my own. Been on there now about 10 years.

Took all your advice an made my own. 6mm insertion rubber. See how they hold up
