G'day its Chris here from Gloucester NSW, currently enjoying my 2010 Disco 4 TDV6 3.0L
Currently have one issue, that being cruise control won't work, it did but has now ceased.
Checked all fuses and all good. Bought a replacement brake switch but when installed and started vehicle other error codes came up and it indicated to take to service centre. Put original back and all good.

Any Thoughts, I tried but cannot located and therefore inspect the relevant vacuum hose.

Was the switch a genuine/ford item or ebay cheapie ?

As a temporary/fault finding measure try spraying some contact cleaner in the cruise control buttons. Mine usually works for months after doing that.

Help Lol

Have seen some good advice which I have followed but!!!!!

Discovery 4 HSE TDV6 2010 model with cruise controls on steering wheel

Stopped working about 2 months ago. Fuses are good, so replaced brake switch with OME part. Cruise worked again but intermittently, would come on then just disengage then stopped all together again. Any thoughts?

Next need to do Timing Belts any suggestions for mechanic in Newcastle or north of Newy?

I did try that but only whilst steering wheel was still connected i didn't remove the steering cheers

Not genuine but was a ebay cheapy then got an OME part from Tassie it seemed to work then stopped again thx cheers

If I don't succeed at 1st I do keep trying. I will see if I can locate and check the clock spring Thx. It did start working again after replacing the brake switch with a new OME switch from Tassie but then stopped again Lol Thx cheers

I dunno why they are called that.. It's the contact mechanism that allows you to spin the steering wheel without tearing out wiring. Cruise control is worth fighting for!

It's called a clock spring because it looks very much like the spring inside a clock. It's long and wound in a manner that allows many turns without over-stretching or kinking. Check out the hairspring which oscillates to keep time.
