Hi all,
My son has just purchased a Perentie FFR from Pickles auctions, and intends to put it on Victorian club plates. Does anyone have a recommendation for where to go for a RWC in the Melbourne area?

He’s aware that he’ll need to fit door locks and a removable ignition key. The areas of concern are the ‘helicopter hooks’ on the front bull bar and rear chassis . Also whether the soft top can be totally removed, as the section over the driver is missing. Does he also need to remove the blackout lights?

in order to preserve it’s value, he wants to keep it as original as possible.

regards,
Disco Simon

Hi Disco Simon,
Good to hear that your son picked up a Perentie from the latest offerings from Pickles.
I read that you are thinking about cutting off the helicopter lifting points to get the Perentie registered in Victoria.
My advice is to check out the forum as I remember seeing someone who created a very simple bar/bumper that bolted onto the front of the Perentie bar and essentially covered the Helicopter lifting points. This enabled them to register the vehicle.
Someone on the forum may possibly know where this thread is located but try searching the forum as I seem to remember a thread that dealt solely with registering Perenties.
Best of luck and I hope that you don’t have to disfigure your sons Perentie to get it licensed.
Regards Warrick.

Autofarm in Kilmore did my RWC, found them great to deal with. A bit out of town, but close the the train line so worked for me.

I've got some new locks and an ignition barrel of you are interested, genuine Land Rover with bits I got from the auctions.

Contact Rijidij Off Road (https://rijidijoffroad.com.au/)

Murray designed a front bar that covers the helicopter lift points - to pass a RWC.

I was lucky with my FFR when I registered it - it's still 100% original.. Nothing cut off.

Cheers,
GG.

AutoFarm got the RWC done on my D2.

Don't think they have a RWC Licence but they work with someone in Kilmore & know very well what needs to be done & importantly how to do it.

Some closure to this thread.
My son got his RWC at BCK Automotive in Diamond Creek. No modification was necessary apart from door locks and ignition barrel.
Cheers, Disco Simon
