Hi All

I have a couple of questions regarding my 101 gearbox. I'm getting a reconditioned Perentie gearbox for my 101 and the current box is getting undrivable. Firstly should I change the transfer case ratios back to standard 101 which would probably mean moving the transfer gears from my old box to the new one unless someone knows of a good supplier of the transfer gears? Or should I leave it as is and run the higher ratio?

The box is being shipped without a bell housing as I'm going to use the one from my current box but I was hoping someone would be able to point me in the right direction to find an input shaft. If not I'll have to use the one in the old box. I have also asked this question in the REMLR forum, so apologies for anyone reading it twice.

Cheers

My guess is that finding a new input shaft would be like finding unicorn droppings - I think you'll be using your old one along with the bellhousing. If you are running a standard engine, then I highly doubt it would be much fun to drive with a higher ratio in the back. Are the gears in your current box flogged out or not sure yet?

Yeah, you're right Gav. I think I'm going to have to use the input shaft from the old box. The gears are pretty shot but I believe the transfer gears are ok. I can get the correct ratio HR gear new if I need it.

I've got a brand new box for a 101 - $45K but it comes with a complete running great condition 101 for free... :)
