Greetings,
Looks like the fun is about to start, picked up the wife’s project yesterday, a 1962 2a 109 with a Pilchers ambulance body conversion.
Still tracing its history as told it’s possibly an ex-Maralinga vehicle.
Needs some firewall repairs so may have to get onto the man down near Geelong way.
Cheers Kyle

This is going to be an interesting project to follow. One interesting point - those brackets on the bumper look like they are for an A-frame for towing.

Back in 1998 we found a British Military 80" at Pricer's Wreckers, Dalby. We wondered how it got there, after some research seams it was stationed at Amberley& was air lifted to Maralinga when they did the tests then bought back to Qld. Mate of mine bought it & we nicknamed it "The Glow In The Dark" I have no idea where it is now & he has passed away.

Not as bad as I could have been, I’ve order parts as I’ve gone to help the project along.

Some pictures that have turned up in the research, these are from Rob Hornsby who was the NCO of the Maralinga hospital 1963/4.
There was 2 Pilchers bodied ambulances so still trying to match numbers.

Had an expensive trip to Cooma, 1 Shielders gal bulkhead on its way.
the rest is a painted rolling chassis and parts everywhere.
