Thats good but If you find you need another all I ask is that the whole thing goes missing with the tub. I'm beginning to wish it would just self combust or turn into a model T ford so I can fix it with ease.

Hi Phil
What sort o$$$ did it set you back???
Im about to start building an off-road trailer, but I think the only Landrover part will end up being the wheels, but if the tubs are reasonable I could stick one on.

Followed a Patrol towing a really interesting trailer north of Rockhampton a couple of years ago. It was two 130 tubs connected back to back and built up as a dual axle trailer. Looked really neat and professionally done. Wish I'd had my camera to take shots. The only thing not good about was that it wasn't behind a Defender.

Is this the said tub?
nope! mine was on the back of the S2a above it.:p
cost of tub was 500bucks, they have been going for 300 to 700 on ebay!
for what a new gal 4x4 trailer is worth. i reckon that i can build one for the same money if not cheaper. and do it all my way.
and the biggest benifit of the lr tub is its VERY light, ian(muddymech) and i can lift it.
hmmm painted the same colour as the 90, with the same wheels and tyres..... ohhh how that would put a horn on a jellyfish:woot:

Good one Phil, I've had a 130 tub for a few years & still not gone ahead, thought about selling it, but I'll follow with interest your trailer's development. Mine was only on the 130 for two or three months before it got a tray back, been sitting under a tree in Orange until I got it in a shed in February.
My problem is I just have no idea where to start, with some tips from you I may get some inspiration, I got some mates up here that now their way around a welder better than I do.

G'day Phil,
I built a camper trailer in 2001 based on a 130 tub. Had a solid axle turned up from 65mm round to take Landy hubs, brakes, bearings etc. Also used Landy springs and shocks.
To achieve correct balance (most important for good towing behaviour) I extended the 130 tub by having an al box built to fit across the front.
I have done about 40,000 km with it and only trouble has been one flat tyre!
Hope all goes well for your project.
