Recent EDGE upgrade and outlook not doing line breaks

OK You may have noticed that I have no line breaks in my postings. This is also happening on Outlook. Shift and Enter does not work. I have googled terms but no help. There seems no facility in the headers of posts to enable or disable line breaks or in the settings of Edge. Please someone tell me how to get my line breaks back because I miss them. Regards PhilipA . WIN 10 up to date with updates and Office 365.

I use Outlook with no problems but I don’t use Edge.

OK I have now found through experimentation that only the enter on the numeric keyboard now works to activate a line break.
This occurs whether number lock is enabled or not.
This is weird.
Maybe my enter key is worn out.

Er it is in the computer section.
In fact I found my main "enter" button seems broken.
the button on the RH number pad works.
