I have a Traxide setup as per the attached schematic. Note I have 2 x 50W 6v solar panels permanently connected to the Traxide loom. I have a Tvan with 2 x 105Ah AGM batteries directly charged by the Traxide system (as per Tim's guidance) via the Andersen plug (completely bypasses the Redarc BCDC charger which is only used for charging from the Tvan solar panel).
In the past, with Tvan attached, the second battery (and Tvan batteries) receive the same voltage from the alternator as the main battery after 30 seconds or so from starting. I’m pretty sure I noticed this as we started our trip because I have a battery voltmeter for both batteries in the upper glovebox and it was being held open for some reason by the passenger.
However, for the rest of the trip, the Traxide system did not charge the second battery or the Tvan batteries. As I was driving along, the main battery was happily showing 14.7v or 14.8v but the second battery (with or without the Tvan batteries connected) showed around 12.5v which would have been from the D4 solar panels with a little help from the Tvan panel (although this does not appear to be very efficient, so I plan on upgrading it).
I’ve tried the following with no change:
1. Switch from shared mode to isolation mode (and heard a solenoid click)
2. Checked that the Traxide 50amp fuse was working
3. Checked all earths and wiring in general
4. Checked the in cab module lights and all seemed OK to me
I’m wondering if there’s a fault with the USI-160. If so, how can I check it?
