Handbrake light flashing

My mate handbrake light flashing. I tried to emergency release by pulling the steel cable under the middle console but the light still flashing and handbrake is still on and car cannot moved.

Anyway when handbrake switch is on I can here loud noise.

The car is outside blocking the driveway at the moment.

Anyone can help what could be the problem and how resolve it at least temporarily? TIA

Pull harder! You’ll feel a real “bang” as it releases.

Use the cross brace for the jack as leverage through the wire loop - don’t smack yourself with it.
