While waiting for my new Av- receiver to arrive I decided to have a look inside my old General Electric chip board speakers. The 4" cardboard tube between the speakers was stuffed full of crumpled up news paper. dated
'Sunday Mail October 23 1988'.and sealed with masking tape. Whether I did that or the previous owner I don't know. What purpose does it serve ? Would new speakers improve the sound noticeably ? I've never given these
speakers a second thought. Thank you
