Hi all, very keen to try out the new baby. It is very similar to the set up time for some hard lid jobbies. Unbuckle the thick PVC cover, plug in the lead and hit the remote button and while it goes up in 45 seconds, grab the telescopic ladder and slot that in and you are sorted. As you climb up, just one stay to swing out and that is it. No miltiple stays to muck around with. 2 x electric motors and a 12v RCA port to get lights etc sorted.Very cool. Will provide a few options including for AULRO quick overnighters. Cheers

Hey mate. Failed to start... they are replacing it [emoji1787]. When it is out of warranty period I will put a basic override switch in place to ensure RF issues with the remote don't stop power to the motors. Dometic were excellent to deal with. Based on the Gold Coast too. Cheers

[bigrolf][bigrolf][tonguewink]I knew you would get a laugh Peter. In fairness the construction of the tent and size of the motors is very impressive. Been using canvass stuff for a long time and it's very good. So, an electrical gremlin but doesn't deter me...I have owned Land Rovers for 23 years [emoji1787][emoji1787]. Cheers

Just had a few nights in Roma in the tent. Still great kit. Has been all over the state from Cape York to Stradie and out to Quilpie. It is so quick and easy. Very comfortable to sleep in. I used an average of 10.5 litres per 100 km out and back from Roma with a heavy load of camping gear for 3 adults, awning hanging off on side and an ensuite tent awning on the other, and 4 recovery tracks and tent on the roof. Full water tank etc. It's a heavy set up and lots of wind resistance so I am happy with that sort of economy. I dare say a LR diesel would be more fuel efficient with that load and wind resistance but the 2.4 Mitsubishi is extremely quiet on the highway and has proven to be a punchy and reliable little mill.
I think Dometic no longer sell the electric version in Au. They do OS. They continue to sell the gas strut 140 size which would work well on RR and D2 size vehicles.
Cheers
