In a 1950 80in. Seller says is original but that breather indicates a 2.0 and not the original 1.6. Am I correct or has the rocker cover been changed over?

Cheers,
P

You are correct, 1595 cc had an aluminium oil filler tube & no breather in top of rocker cover. If you use the 1st number in engine number will tell you the year same with Chassis, gearbox, & differential numbers. The 1595cc Exhaust manifold exit is in the centre & the 2L is off centre as well if you have a photo of the other side of the motor. In this photo it looks like the oil filter below the carby which makes it a 2L were the 1595 cc the filter is on the passenger's side if it hasn't been taken off.

Most if not all external engine parts are interchangeable between 1.6 and 2L Siamese engines. Checking engine number or measuring bore is the only way to make sure.
