Hi all, I’m currently putting my 2a 88 inch back together, and upgrading the 10 inch brakes to 11 inch in the process. Today I went to fit the backing plate to the rear axle and noticed that the larger 11 inch backing plates need to be slightly rotated backwards to align the bolt pattern. These are off a 109 Salisbury diff, but I checked with a 1967 109 Rover diff I also have in the shed, and the hole pattern appears to be the same as the Salisbury. They are around the correct way (yes I know they are handed). I was wondering if this is a problem, or the slight rotation doesn’t matter (noting I will take care to make sure the leading shoe is installed as the leading shoe). If it is a problem, is anybody on here whom has fitted 11 inch brakes in this way able to advise me on how they dealt with this. Thanks in advance

I've copied this drawing from the U.K Series 2 site where this topic was extensively discussed recently.

Many thanks guys. I thought it should be ok but feel much more comfortable having drawn on the collective wisdom [emoji106].
