G'day All,

I purchased a new set of engine and gearbox mounts for my 80 inch.
I have taken the bolts out etc but cant work out how to undo the clutch rod so I can slightly jack the motor and box up enough to slide the new rubbers in.
I have a workshop manual but my question is: What is the easiest/quickest way to do it.
Any help appreciated.
(I have the guards, seat box and tub removed so access is easy.)
Cheers, Dean

181870 You need to remove pin No 21 then the X shaft will move back towards the chassis enough to disengage the pipe sleeve, you will then be able to remove it from bush 16 to get the X shaft out of the way. If you are only removing the X shaft to replace the mounts the pipe sleeve & bush are like universal joints & should tilt far enough to be able to replace the mounts without removing the X shaft.
A bit of advice - if the pin is worn never replace it with a bolt it will only sheer when the clutch is pushed in. You need to replace it with the correct hardened pin & you may also need to replace the pipe sleeve No 20

After you've loosened the engine/gearbox mounts, I reckon the uni joints in the linkage will allow enough movement to lift one corner at the time to remove and slide in new rubbers.
