On The DarkSide, Heater control's.

G'Day All,
Just a small issue but it really gets to me.:twisted: :twisted:

When I turn the lights on our D1a the lights behind the heater control (temp dials, fan control, AC etc) dont come on very often and you need to hit the dash :eek: for them to come on....sometines they just dont come on:twisted:

Its seems like a bad earth or something...any ideas on a fix....has anybody seen this aswell?

Have the same issues amshaw, I have D1 93 which is a little loose in the wiring dept. Bad earths are only one half of the issue, tho. Poor connections on the positive side will do the same or lack thereof. Its only minor stuff, when you have time get in there and do some wiggling. There's alight behind my clock which comes and goes - one day I'll get to it... GQ

I was doing some repairs and extra stuff to my dash, and was able to look at the back of the climate control illumination. The fitting has soldered ends instead of a plug, and it seems that the wires are a little tight, so after time the solder gets a bit iffy, and no contact. Hit the panel, and the metal touches again and the light comes on. I'll take some photos of it and post a remedy

I'll have to go and have a play and work out why mine don't work. I just figured it was a Land Rover thing.
