Picked up an RAAF spanner at the Trash & Treasure Market on Sunday. 2BA & 4BA so handy on an old Land Rover.
A Google search threw up a picture of the exact same spanner, I wonder who made them ?

Also scored some Whitworth sockets and a small Japanese smoothing plane.

You never know what will turn up at a Trash & Treasure Market.....you just need to be there early !

I still have the BA spanner set I was given in my company supplied tool box in 1965. Still in the original pouch and looking unused.

11BA to 0BA

I have a BA tap & die set I purchased from Tracy Tools in the UK back in the 70's or 80's, that went from 0BA to 11BA.
I think there was only a tap in 11BA but the other sizes there was both a tap & die.

0,2 & 4BA I've used, the rest remain untouched.

My set - Britool brand, full complement 11BA - 0BA. I don’t think there was ever anything in the vacant slot.

My only other 2BA spanner is a Britool, collected sometime in the UK but I can't remember when.

I have a box of spanners from the UK in the shed somewhere, lots of names from the past but no BA sizes.
King Dick,Williams Superslim, Bedford Vanadium, Britool.....I'm sure there are a few names I've forgotten.

I was a 17-yo trainee radio technician and and received a very comprehensive toolbox for free from the company - Overseas Telecommunications Commission (Australia) - OTC(A). I worked with them for 37 years and still have all the tools from that toolbox, most, if not all, are still in good condition - except my wooden Rabone folding carpenter's rule which broke near the hinge a few years after receiving it. I still have it.

Beautiful photo of your Rabone ruler there with lavender on “Rhapsody in Blue” Ron. Love it.
I have some of my father’s and my grandfather's old tools. I enjoy getting them out and oiling them. Wrapping them back up in oiled canvas. They “speak to you”.
best, jeff

I have a number of those rulers but well worn. They turn up at Trash & Treasure markets all the time. I still use one on woodwork projects.
Scored one recently with an integral spirit level.

My daughters loved to play with them, they became known as 'snappy rulers'.

Not my Rabone, that’s a pic of the ‘net. I did say mine was like that one. :)
