Hello All,
Just wondering if anyone has replaced the genuine or cloned air cleaner intake pipe Part Number ESR184, with a less expensive generic non-Land Rover branded length of concertina style air intake pipe? If so what did you use? Paying over $100 up $185 - just going off the eBay first check for price range - seems to be a bit steep, price wise. It is not like it is a moving part from somewhere deep inside a particular model engine that must mesh precisely with all the other parts around it.
Surely, similar sized concertina pipe can be bought off a roll from somewhere like a truck parts supply place and sold by price per metre. The pipe is secured by two adjustable Utilux style hose clamps after all. The intake pipe is not a precision part. To quote the late John Elliot .... "$185 for a piece of pipe - pig's arse!"
Kind regards
Lionel
