Range Rover Sport tyre winch nut turns but spare tyre just stays there

Trying to lower my spare tyre. Have turned the winch nut
50 times in both directions and the tyre and cable doesn't move.
No sound when turning. Can someone tell me how to get the spare tyre down please or do I have to angle grind the spring and cable holding the tyre up and replace the winch?

Its probably jammed, try pulling down on the wheel while unwinding it.

What model Sport? L320 or L494?

Its a l320, winch has had it, but tyre is firmly in up position. Thought if winch was overtighned and failed, tyre would come down?
If I can turn it 50 times either way. Stuffed?
Going to angle grid it of unless someone has a better solution!
