Vale Constable Rachel McCrow, 29, and Constable Matthew Arnold, 26.
Not forgetting the neighbor shot dead as well-
Only bright part was "three offenders were fatally shot by specialist officers," stopping more deaths I assume.
What a horrible selfish waste at so many levels. life line is 131114 if this caused you issues.

Details are understandably sketchy, but if this was suicide by cop ( Police Union described it as an ambush ) then I wish to god those responsible had just done themselves in and not involved others.
As I say, sketchy, so way too soon to tell. It just burns me up. In 1988 I was living in South Yarra, just around the corner from Walsh Street. This doesn't make me important in any way, I just mention it because those murders are imprinted on Melburnians' psyche. These ones in Qld will be remembered.

One of the three offenders, two males and a female, was a teacher.
Such senseless behaviour. A lone lunatic is tragic, three together suggests something a bit more sinister.

It’s bloody tragic that six people lost their lives in this way. Seems to me that the QPOL members were not aware of the potential danger they were in. Considering all the resources Police have these days, seems quite odd. NSW Police had requested QPOL to check this place out….surely they had intel it might be dangerous. On the flip side, what situation makes it reasonable to have a shootout with police? Seems to me there is a lot more to this story than reaches the news.

Down the rabbit warren thread is usually funny Ian. Fully agree 3 now dead murderers in camouflage clothing and weapons ambushing police is sinister, evil and clearly pointless in terms of the dead idiots. Heart breaks think of all the families hurt by this. Including the dead murderers families. Drugs or conspiracy theories - no matter- Selfish and Stupid action.

The relative isolation of the property might have had some mitigating effects twenty years ago, but it shouldn't have today, given the resources you mentioned. As you also say, we aren't in possession of many of the facts and so we shouldn't take this on face value.
The best we can hope for is that lessons are learned so events like these become fewer. Condolences to the families of ALL involved.
RIP.

Just shocking!
I am very much against the Death Penalty but, I am kind of glad these 3 won't get their day in court.
Police & all first responders have a very tough job.
They should get to go home.

Nothing more than a senseless tragedy, which words cannot describe.
They are saying the three killed had no chance and the other two Police that survived were very very lucky.
One good thing,i suppose,is the perpetrators got what they deserved, and won’t be spending time in an Airconditioned jail cell wasting oxygen and other resources.

The teacher was actually a school principal, not the sort of person who is generally considered loopy. I wonder if he was the same one involved with the mysterious kidnapping caper near Byron, recently.

As an x member of the Q Pol. Unless there has been and incident or call to service at an address then there is no information. Information may be obtained as to if a person at the address has a firearms licence. But you have to know who lives there. Unfortunately some one has to do something to be flagged. An inquiry into an adult missing person in my time was just that an inquiry.
Also unless it has changed there is no inter agency exchange of information unless via a warrant. So no information from Ergon, Centre link ,et. I'm sure it will all come out in the coronial. Just passing on what i recall. Baz

This is so dreadful, but did these killers spend their lives dressed in camo gear and carry weapons with them the whole time?
It almost seems that they were pre-warned/pre-armed.

All worked at schools, I can't get my head around how they went from that to dressing in camo with military guns, shooting police just there to try find a missing person. Murdering them like they did and the poor neighbour too. What horrendous acts. I just don't understand.
May the fallen rest in peace, lives stolen. I'm thinking of their loved ones, and also the surviving officers who have a long journey ahead :(

Was the NSW missing person report lodged to get the police to the property? "Commissioner Carroll said the "specifics" of that tip-off from New South Wales Police would form a large part of the investigation.
"The initial call from New South Wales, the initial missing person's report, all of that will be investigated," she said.
The attackers appeared to be well-armed with a large calibre weapon and had a security camera system set up to alert them to anyone entering the property, the source said.
The two officers were shot without warning, as was a neighbour Alan Dare, who walked to the property's boundary after seeing cars on fire on the remote property.
"
What a waste. What ever the motivation of the cowardly murders they now are dead and when buried we can spit on their graves perhaps!

In that case one would like to think they would have been more cautious approaching the house.
Someone could have had them all in their sights (telescopic) when they showed up on the cctv cameras so no chance for them. I really feel for those young coppers.[bigsad]

That was my thought as well, and it hasn’t really been mentioned in any reports yet.
Or were there four Police that didn’t have a lot on,and thought they would catch up with each other?
No doubt we will find out more eventually.

Maybe some were tutoring others? " This is how you handle a missing Persons Inquiry" BLAM BLAM! WTF!
Next time you spot a young copper on the roadside pointing a Laser at you (ie. doing his/her job) & flip the bird at them you will remember this tragedy.
We all take them for granted until such time as we need them.
Not meant to be frivolous.[bigsad]

Vale to the 3 deceased and my heartfelt sympathy to their families.
One very small consolation is that is was not five shot. How the other 2 survived is amazing.

Knew the woman killed in this incident was familiar..
She was a teacher in Proston, the town closest to Wattlemere
Lots of people round there have a similar mindset re COVID and government conspiracy stuff etc etc
The crap that went on when the local show was on and you had to be jabbed to enter was an eye opener
Such a sad story how this incident escalated to where it got to the point that people set about murdering the unsuspecting

Secrecy by govt. and PTB does nothing except fertilise reactionary mistrust, which I sometimes wonder IS the desired result...
My thoughts being a targeted crack-down on firearms... Again.
Not only but also, news stories are (?) going to conflate the executions with 'Tin Hats / Preppers / Conspiracy Theorists & Especially.... Vaccine DENIERS. Hope I'm wrong...

...Foundation stone of "Othering" when the plan is to split society.
Take the Calathumpian Tribe, ascribe a nasty characteristic or three, make them odius in the eyes of society, then, if a member commits a personal, BAD crime or exposed in some way.... then associate the Tribe WITH the badness. Repeat ad infinitum. .
Done well, Preppers and Questioners Of (any) Authority will be linked with Murderers .. Then this will become Accepted Wisdom,,, Not to be questioned.
Thus a harmless group of RED beard affirming people morph into Wickedness - and no punishment by the Public is too great.
--- Did this exercise at school, part of Cadets... on how to conquer a mythical enemy by non-military means. Inspired by "Hearts & Minds" doctrine of our Army in Vietnam back then...
Lets wait for more background info to be revealed...
EDIT:- For the Forumites living in QLD;
Is there any suggestion their and/or surrounding property was going to be taken / used by the. government or gas company ?
- Impending potential loss could unhinge someone who already has an issue with 'Authorities'. IF QLD. had mandated 'Jabbings', ie, 'No jab= No job'. for Teachers, there's one solid reason to be angry ...

money wasn't an issue, she told friends they had money to last years and weren't worried about not working
not to mention they spent heaps turning the house into a fortress with underground bunkers etc etc
preppers, that of late, hit the meth according to other locals...

I am concerned at what these "Teachers" passed on to their students.
Its a bit frightening the thought of these lunatics mentoring children.

I am acquainted with several teachers of varying ages, experience and job description and there would appear to be a filtering down through the whole system, from teacher training onwards, of ideals, morals, political correctness etc. based on personal opinions and 'Government of the time', policies.
Reading, Writing and Arithmetic are lower class citizens in the world of education, these days.

Education has been a political battle ground for many many years as it is believed that the opinion / world understanding that students carry through life is largely formulated at this point in life. What we are seeing is the attempt to influence battle moving to younger and younger ages in the education journey. Once it was more subtle and related to topics that generally were accepted by most sides eg smoking now the addenda has moved on

You / we would not be best pleased with what is happening in some overseas English-speaking countries...
Combine 'Reading to Young Children' sessions, as is part of many schools, but now by adult males dressed as females... Sanctioned by "authorities". Yep, fear the worst and you'll be correct. Causing a bit of a ruckus however, hasn't stopped it...

Interestingly though, in some of the, err, less 'progressive' US States there is a move towards "The science of reading". or, in other words, Phonics. These are also the States where "the Authorities" will NOT sanction what you speak of. Thankfully. Maybe some pushback?

All three murders were sovereign citizen, conspiracy theorist, nut jobs.
Im certainly not condoning what they did, violence is abhorrent. It’s not the way to resolve anything. But I must say, I watched some of their videos on YouTube, just before they were taken down. Agree they were extremely paranoid. Thing is, if you believe what they were saying, police had visited property on multiple occasions and were aware that the ‘missing’ fellow was actually there (he had broken through COVID border controls into QLD with a ‘carload of guns and knives’, got bogged in a creek, car towed to local town and repaired, mechanic reported the weapons to police who did nothing…?) they also say he had blown whistle on possible (unverified) pedophilia in NSW education system…before quitting and making his run to His brothers place in QLD…
As I said before, there does seem to be more to this than meets the eye. Those poor young coppers were lambs to a slaughter…question is, did someone higher up expect a shootout to occur?
Oh and just to clear up a media error, sovereign and citizen are words with opposite meanings, you are either sovereign or a citizen…but you cannot be both.

Twould be a good idea.
SAPOL here have a property on land @ Echunga where I believe the Police Greys are agisted & possibly some outdoor "special" Training is carried out.
Unfortunately it's recent claim to fame was a 54 year old woman who looked after the place & cooked etc was accidentally locked inside the onsite Freezer Room which apparently had a faulty internal Emergency door release. They found her frozen after the door apparently closed on her.
Outcome was a bit of a whitewash IMHO with no-one being found culpable that I am aware of not even the person who was supposedly responsible for Maint. I guess if it was anybody else the book would be thrown at them & Gaol time be had.
SA Police fined $390,000 over death of cook Debra Summers in freezer - ABC News (https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-04-16/police-fined-over-death-of-cook-in-freezer/11021166) I suppose the fine went around in circles & back to the Gubbmint in General Revenue.

I guess that if they did, they wouldn't have thought they'd be confronted with Serious weaponry & their combined Glocks would keep them out of trouble. Apparently Radio Reception in that area was a bit dodgy & unreliable for Police Equipment/Phones it was reported earlier but another copper was able to communicate outside.
