Gday,
I’ve noticed quite a bit of play on rear output.
looking at park brake Drum to backing plate and pushing on rear driveshaft, there’s about 3mm movement up and down. Removed drum and checked torque on flange nut, seemed good. Question one is, how much side float is safe? Question two is, likely to be worn splines at flange or a bearing further into transfer?
Appreciate your assistance and time in replying.
Cheers.

Gday,
I’m noticing a fair amount of sidefloat on rear output. If you push up on rear driveshaft, the whole drum will move upwards perhaps 2-3mm. Removed drum and checked torque on output flange nut. Seems fine. Question one is How much is normal, if any? Question two is wear on output shaft splines or bearing further into transfer more likely?
Appreciate your replies and suggestions.
Cheers.

Dunno anything about these, even though I have one sitting here, but this might help:

In FNQ, Brian (Bearman) on this forum might be the man to ask as he rebuilds the LT95.

Alternatively, ring Brad at KLR Automotive. KLR also rebuild the LT95.

I'll have to double check that's what it actually is. It sure isn't a LT230. I'll do that tomorrow morning in the light. If it is then sure, I'll sell it. There's a box and a V8 there as well out of the same car. [bigwhistle]

I apologise. I've done some reading and find that what I have can't be a LT95, as it is a seperate casting from the gearbox.

Might be interested in the lot anyway…what condition?

Rebuild/parts. I'll dig it out and take pics. V8 is injected RR, so probably 3.9

Don't want a SIII 109 ute/tray? Or some FIAT bits?

Busy getting the Dormobile ready for Cooma otherwise I might be interested in another project.
I probably need to complete the ones I already have.

Manuals & gaskets have been useful, thanks.
I didn't expect the 109 for nothing, just being cheeky.

I knew that... So was I. The 109 might come up for sale though. I need to fund the completion ( hah, who am I kidding ) of the OKA, and it's probably worth more than my Discos.
