My Disco Sport is coming up to seven years old, and gotta admit I didn't expect it to last this long, but fingers crossed no major issues so far so it may just be a keeper!

I get two oil & filter changes done a year, and have some larger items coming up over the next couple of years - brakes, timing belt, coolant, accessory belt, driveline fluids, so the service costs are going to ramp up.

I've been servicing it at the main dealer so far despite the cost because I wanted to keep a good relationship with them because of the extended warranty and 'goodwill' on offer from JLR, which has worked out for me a couple of times already. But that runs out this year and their prices are getting ridiculous while their service is getting less responsive, so I'm looking for a good Independent in Perth to build a long term relationship with instead.

I'm posting here on the Freelander 2 forum because I've got the same PSA 2.2 engine so an Indi who's is familiar with the Freelander 2 would be a good bet. I have a good mechanic who looks after my other car, but he's honest enough to tell me it doesn't make sense for him to invest in the specialist tools and systems to maintain a Land Rover properly, given I'm the only customer of his that has one!

So, any suggestions gratefully received....

Thanks, I hadn't looked there, so appreciate the pointer. However looks like near everything is way old, like 10-15 years old!

Was hoping for some more recent experience, and specifically someone who is good with the PSA 2.2 engine.

No, no, no.

You are looking at it the wrong way! WA is 10-15 years behind the east so those are very recent posts. [bigwhistle]

Haha! And thank goodness as it means our house prices are 10-15 years behind those over east as well [bigsmile]
