Tow bar

Hi all I’m new to this. I have a 1991 Perente signal vehicle which has the army towbar with the ring on it. I would like to convert this to the tow ball. I’ve asked a few towbar specialists they don’t want to know me and suggested I go to an engineer. I asked Land Rover themselves, they will put on a whole new towbar for 2500. This just seems silly as the towbar on it is very good. Any suggestions, thank you

The problem is that the vehicle isn't complied for towing more than, I think, 750kg.

KLR Automotive have an ADR Compliant towbar: Perentie ADR Compliant Towbar - KLR Automotive (https://klrautomotive.com.au/perentie-adr-compliant-towbar/) but it ain't cheap.


Straight bolt-on compliant to 1200kg in all states. Can be engineered in your state to 3300kg.

They also have a non-compliant towbar for off-road use. I think I have a photo or two that a bloke sent to me via an SMS. I'll check my phone to see if I can upload it here.
