Seems Range Rover and LR3 are high on the list of "the most unreliable luxury cars"

Thats because americans cannot drive or maintain pommie cars properly.

The Americans just don't get it do they.

Yes but how many incidents need to be reported to class it as below average? Matt

Notice how the new Discovery isn't called a Discovery in America - it's a LR3.
The early Discos had such a bad name that LR dropped it.

It would appear that that was a waste of time. Matt

But ford has increased their recall over to over 1 millin vehicles dating back to 1994 so how bad could the LR3 be?

IF you go to the original JD Power survey, you'll find not a little bias in there.
The other day on the local news they reported that 4WD owners were more agressive than others, according to Brisbane Uni survey. They surveyed a total of 16 (that's right 16) people who owned both sedans and 4WD's...
"There are lies, damned lies, and statistics!"

These surveys are on a problems reported basis, not independent scrutiny by someone who is consistent across all vehicles. Some owners are fussier than others.
Not that long ago Mercedes was well down the list, coz one model was having trouble with the key fob. A lot of warranty claims = poor survey results.

The main reason Mecedes is down the list is because they don't build their cars like they used to. Cost cutting always takes its toll.

This coming from the country that spawned
the Edsel (Ford)..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edsel
and the Pinto (Ford).. http://www.fordpinto.com/
and the Chevrolet Corvair (GM)..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unsafe_at_Any_Speed
they'd certainly know a lemon when they saw one.
Where is Ralph Nader when they need him
