I got The attached defects together with a gearbox fail, reduced performance, lowered suspension, park brake fault, throttle/pedal position sensor messages. Most of the messages indicate a CANbus failure. I've tried hard resets and all of the earth points that I have checked have been good - yet to check the main engine earth strap. I hooked up a spare park brake module - no change.
Could a crook battery or alternator be the problem?
Battery voltage was good after charging but indicated 12.3v after a couple of starts. Voltage with engine running was 13.9v.
I haven't seen any broken/damaged wiring.

All of those Can bus faults are referencing lost comms with the ABS Module. I was just having a look at the high speed wiring diagrams (D3) and the ABS module is at the end of the line with the next module along being the Transfer case module. I'd check the continuity of the canbus wiring between the transfer case module and the ABS module. Do you have a locking rear diff? My diagrams also have an "AFS Module" tee'd off between the two which is listed as optional so that could be the diff control. If thats the case then it would lead me to belive a wiring fault rather than a faulty ABS module as the transfer case is the last module to be able to communicate with the down stream modules. The fact that the ABS module has not logged a fault is also relevant because it has no comms with the rest of the canbus network

If you search thru the multiple posts regarding this phenomena two subjects appear to be prevalent. One is low battery voltage and second is Brake Light Switch unreliability.

A good battery should not be dropping to 12.3V unless you have had extended cranking times for the 3 starts mentioned in your post.

Thanks for the advice folks. I checked the ABS module connector and found it was dirty. Cleaned it, checked the wiring for faults - all ok, so reconnected and all of the previous faults have gone.
I'll be getting the battery checked over on Monday, it seems to drop voltage quickly without doing much work.
Having disturbed the connectors I now have a park brake warning lamp fault. Globes checked ok and apart from the amber light on the dash the system works ok. There's always something to play with on a Disco!

It's pretty common when you open the door on them, they pull about 30amps when they wake up
