Hi all,
I need new seals for both my doors and the tail gate on my 1953 S1 80".
I noticed that www.britishautoparts.com.au are offering an S1 door and tail gate seal kit for AU$44 inc GST. I guess that is for 1 door, so $88 for both and the Tail Gate.
Sounds almost too good to be true, so hoping that someone who has purchased this kit can tell us all how it went and how well did it fit and allow the doors to close nicely.
I'm happy to give them my money, as they are local, but only if it works.
regards

303975 is only listed in my S1 54-58 and S2 parts catalogue, not in the 80".

Could be that the seal kit fits a door or a tail gate (in which case you’d need to buy 3)…

260.011 is a profile I'd tried in the past, the aperture for the steel strip is incorrect.
I tracked down a good profile if you want to use steel strips & rivet into place as per original. Problem is I have to buy a full roll.
Series Land Rover door seal (https://www.aulro.com/afvb/series-land-rovers/288087-series-land-rover-door-seal.html)
Part number is in the above thread, other suppliers have it.

I should have taken pix against a steel rule. Maybe later.
Sorry about quality but I can't take pix with a phone.

I was always under the impression that door and tailgate seals used on 80" S1 are of different shape than the ones used on later models.

I am sure I used one of the P Selection rubbers in the. I used an original bit of rubber from Landy & took it to the Rubber Man in Brisbane who sold Peter Jackon's old Auto Rubber Co products. 183676 I will find my catalogue & see which one it was. At the Rubber Man I could buy whatever length I needed. Found it 226004 which I see is still available 183678
