Hello everyone
I would like to ask you a question regarding the preload adjustment of the intermediate gear bearings of the transfer case. Serial No. Prefix: 28D.
I read in the manual "LT230T_Transfer_Box_Overhaul_Manual-2° Edition",
that the preload adjustment method is based on the method of crushing the internal folding spacer,
by measuring the torque necessary for the rotation of all the kinematics starting from the primary shaft, until the torque of 1.25 Nm is reached.
This is a somewhat complex empirical method and if the torque to rotate is inadvertently exceeded, a new folding spacer must be fitted.
On the manual "LT230T_Transfer_box_Overhaul_Manual_-_3rd_Edition",
the given method is based on measuring all components from the thickness of the inner race of the bearings and The mounted spacer should be length selective, non-folding type.
It is further reiterated NOT to fit a collapsible spacer. In order to calculate the correct size of the spacer, the manual indicates the use of a specific tool indicated with:
"LRT-41-017".
Not having the possibility to buy it, but being able to build it in my laboratory,
I ask:
Do any of you have the technical drawing with the appropriate dimensions of the instrument that you can share?
Thank you and greetings
Ignazio
