I think it's time for a new start battery in the OKA[bigsad]

I have two Century Overlands that were the house batteries. One ain't so good. I was going to use the other as a start, and get two AGMs. I'm not set up or budgeted for lithium, and my needs aren't great energy wise. I have an old solar array, a good controller and one of Tim's isolators to fit.

This week ALDI have 100Ah deep cycles on special for $200. The brand is VoltX FWIW. Has anyone had any real world experience with these?

Never heard of that brand, but over the years I have bought a few non food items from Aldi and have been disappointed with most ( I no longer buy any of them apart from their synthetic 2 stroke oil ). Check the weight. A good 100 amp AGM should weigh around 30 kgs, poor quality ones somewhat less. This is not the end all of quality but it's a start.

No experience with the ALDI AGMs, but I'm currently using the K-mart 80AH ones (2x)... the specs all checked out in terms of expected weight for the capacity, and the $/Ah equation was favourable ... they are (or were) $149. Who knows how long they'll stock them for, but at least for now they are an easy to replace item for me with K-mart just down the road. Only downside for me was m6 rather than m8 terminals that I had on previous batteries, so a little bit of a fiddle about modifying ring terminals.
