Hi all

After rebuilding my 300 Tdi I'm a little paranoid and would like to monitor cylinder head temps. I have a low coolant alarm and have recently purchased a single sensor Engine Guard.

Where do I mount the sensor? It has a 10mm hole in the lug.

Is a lifting attachment bolt ok to use or is there a better place? Front or rear of the cylinder head?

Thanks heaps

Not sure whether it's any better than the lifting eye bolt, but for what it's worth on my 300tdi disco I put it under one of the glow plug clamp bolts.

Mount the sensor to the rear of the head away from any obvious air source such as the fan, as its touching the head it prolly doesnt really matter.

for years I have been fitting theses to any major rebuilds on Defenders.

Bolted mine under engine lift bracket at the rear of the block. Works fine
