Any suggestions for removing a badly stuck injector on a 2.4 Puma?
3 of the injectors came out easily, but the fourth (#3) is stuck pretty solid. I managed to get a slight bit of rotation out of it, then it got quite free when I turned it 90deg anti-clockwise. Still wouldn't budge in terms of getting it out.
I suspected it had started to unscrew the body from the nozzle by turning it anti-clockwise, so I tightened it up again.

I started to make a tool to try and extract it using a slide hammer, but there's stuff all room between the underside of the injector and the rocker cover to be able to get underneath at 90deg to the clamping ears. Possibly there's a different design tool that will grab it better.

Looking on the Transit forums, there's talk of having to smash and remove the plastic rocker cover to get better access. Hopefully it doesn't come to that!!

Any ideas?

*Keep working it.
*removing the bonnet helps for work space.

*last resort...give the engine a crank over to pop it out.
obviously with the injector clamp removed, place a large rubber mat over the injector (I use a section of conveyor belt rubber that is as wide as the engine bay) have no spectators.

I've had to use this method on a TD5 and numerous Jeeps over the years.

You sharp like chop stick. I have the same problem with 1 injector. Will try the crank and duck approach.
