In two weeks I get the longrange tank fitted.

Jamo,
Very nice. Got a quick glimpse as I drove past your place on Sunday before coming home. Had all intentions of catching up but just ran out of time. Will be down there next month for good.

Just supplied this to one of BigJons customers...

Few teething problems which have been reported to the factory.

Cheers

Jamo.... good Idea using tyres as light guards..or might be camera angle.

The lights in the bar are fully wired up led types.

Problem at the moment is that the tyres seem to interfere with the rear PDC. Sent an email to Kaymar as I paid for the sensor compatible model, but no response yet.

Jamo - Are there indicators in the bar? LED type? If so, what have you done to stop them from flashing all the time?

Sorry BigJon, but what do you mean by flashing all the time?

I like, couldnt you decide which way to go with the tyres so you got some of each. :D

I wanted to be ready for those occasions where one set of wheels may be on solid ground, but the others were in sloppy mud!

Jamo - Disco3 does not support the use of LED trailer indicators, in your case extra ones in the bar. One of the body computers sends a pulse of elecricity down the wiring to check for blown globes, even when the car is off and locked. This voltage is too low for a normal globe to light up, but it will cause an LED to flash. As far as I know (have seen) it is an indicator issue only and it is fixable with an aftermarket electronic doodad.

I wired the led's straight into the harness for the relevant tailight cluster, just before the connector.

I have had no problems so far. Both the main indicator and the led one flash in unison when indicating.

I'll let you know if something happens. But maybe because I still have the main indactors in the loop, it won't be a problem. (I hope).

How often does this pulse happen. I haven't noticed one yet.

Maybe you circumvented the problem by going straight into the tail light assemblies. The LR trailer wiring has its own plug in the harness already. You would probably have notied the pulsing by now if it was happening, once every few seconds or thereabouts, less once the electronics have gone to sleep.

Thanks BigJon, definitely no pulsing so the tailights must absorb the pulse.

I didn't know that the car did that  . Learn something new every day!:D

We didn't know about it either, until a customer came in towing a trailer with LED lights asking why they kept flashing!
