Hi all,
It's known that fitting a D2 ECU into a Defender causes a number of issues, I was wondering if anyone on here has tried and what doesn't work properly?
I believe you get issues with the temp gauge, a number of Phantom faults for systems a D2 has, but a Defender doesn't.
But are there other issues as well?
Cheers

my defender has a disco ECU, you get a series of meaningless faults on the nanocom (missing sensor for auto gearbox, aircon fault, blah blah blah) but otherwise it seems to work fine. Of course you need a defender map for it.

I've realised I asked the wrong question!
I was actually wondering what didn't work properly when using the Disco map on the Defender!! My bad.
So you are running an Automatic disco ECU on a Defender? I'm guessing you get engine flaring on gear changes and no cruise control (if you have fitted it)....?

to be honest I'm not sure where the ECU came from, it came with a "performance tune" and replaced the old unflashable one. But yeah it gives a fault about the auto gearbox so I assume it was from an auto. It has a defender map in it though, doesn't do anything weird on gear changes. I have a cruise control fitted but not the one that plugs into the ECU, because it's from before I had the new ECU fitted. I'm going through some upgrades on the car right now and replacing that old cruise with the one that's just wires and two buttons.
